Don’t Make Me Be the Adult

DON’T MAKE ME BE THE ADULT

I’d rather play The Treasured Child
For the briefest, shortest while;
It’s a role I’ve never played
For – I’d submit- a single day.
The Favorite Role I’d like to see
Is One where In Reality,
You step off the plate,
Then Fish, Cut Bait,
Take a stance and Take a chance;
Heroism’s what I’d like to see
And feel only momentarily,
Arms surrounding and
Tenderly Protecting me.
