NOD TO THE OSCAR NOMINEES OF 2022

When I Drive My Car
Down Nightmare Alley,
I Don’t Look Up,
But when I Dune,
I witness The Power Of The Dog,
Goading me to drive ever more recklessly!
I tell him we’ll stop at Licorice Pizza,
But he says, like King Richard:
“Drive so fast we reach Belfast real fast!”
I say: “Do you NOT know you’re a Canine instead of a Leonine?”
He replies to me and mine:
“We’re on the west side,
Why not make a West Side Story?”
I deny to his and him:
“No way, it’s the Pizza Place or NO Place!”
So, I drag him in and order a soda,
Only to receive it in undrinkable CODA!
I grab the dog and scream (at him) instead:
“We are going BACK TO BED!”
Where like two dogs, we then play dead.
